LEANNE WOOD FOR PLAID Nominations are now closed for the leadership contest for Plaid Cymru. I am delighted that bookmakers have Leanne Wood as favourite to win.  Leanne, has already garnered impressive support, ranging from popular former MP Adam Price, from AMs Bethan Jenkins and Lindsay Whittle; from Allan Pritchard, the Plaid leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council; from Carmarthenshire

Going to the #senedd now to support pcs union. Cant understand why lib dems not supporting them. Tories same as ever on this agenda.Bethan Jenkins AM Perhaps they're not supporting them because they understand that the Welsh Assembly serves the people of Wales and needs to function without the threat of being closed by union action. The House of Commons is apparently unaffected by union actio...

Sat out of government, politicians can make all kinds of pledges (although not necessarily promises) and suggest – usually in the place where it will be heard most loudly – better ways that an administration can spend its budgets.Bethan Jenkins AM in an article attacking the Tories at WalesHome. Bethan's party Plaid Cymru is pledging to spend...

Some quotes from Daran Hill (of Positif Politics) who formed (together with Duncan Higgit, Adam Price and Bethan Jenkins; chair: Nerys Evans) part of the panel discussing the impact of new media on politics earlier today at Plaid's annual conference: We've been asked today to reflect on the impact of new media on politics and society. It really got me thinking really - is it too early to tell? I'm...

Plaid Cymru AM, Bethan Jenkins, has expressed her disappointment that the audit committee decided against holding a public review into the Red Dragon project which cost the taxpayer around £134m. The Plaid AM, speaking in the debate on the audit committee's annual report, argued that in order to be open and transparent the committee should hold a public review into the matter. ... full ...

Wales has a role to play in ending child Labour. That was the message from Plaid AM Bethan Jenkins on the world day against child labour. Ms Jenkins has called on people in Wales to use their purchase power to bring an end to child labour around the world by ensuring that the products they buy aren't the products of under aged workers. ... full story

Though I agree with the content of the Declaration, I did not accept an invitation to sign it. Must admit this caused me much angst. "Why", you might ask. I hope my reasoning is not too convolute...
