There are various articles in the press attacking the weak weak weak coalition government and its gutless surrender to self defeating socialist envy. So far I like this from Dan Hannan the best ... recommended reading.

Why isn’t Dan Hannan MEP more open about his links to the Tea Party? Daniel Hannan MEP is a very strident defender of the US based Tea Party movement. "The Tea Party is that rare beast, a genuinely spontaneous popular movement." Mr Hannan insists, dismissing the claims of astroturfing. But for a gentlemen who says he places a lot of importance on transparency, it's curious that he fails to disclose to his readers his own associations with their funders - the K...

Last week BUCF were lucky enough to attend the  Aldridge-Brownhills Conservative Association Annual Dinner, at which we expected to hear Dan Hannan MEP. Unfortunately Mr Hannan was stuck on the continent due to the strikes in France (typical of the Unions to ruin everyone’s plans). Thankfully former Government whip Richard Shepherd stepped in and spoke at length about

The Tea Party, a masturbation socialist and Palin's Presidential Run in 2012 The Tea Party movement in America is admired and venerated by some of those right-wing Tories, like Dan Hannan MEP, who distrust David Cameron's leadership. As a movement dedicated to the classical liberal philosophies of less government and low tax, it is the most successful recent incarnation of the New Right. It has also managed to create waves with the selection of a range of Republican candid...

You've got to hand it to Dan Hannan – he knows how to make a splash. His latest initiative is a cross-party campaign for an "in or out" referendum on Britain's EU membership. You can find details in his article for the Telegraph today or, indeed, on the campaign's actual website. But the basic argument runs thus: with the AV vote next year, referendums are now hardwi...

David Cameron’s words on Turkish accession to the EU have stoked up some thought-provoking comments on this site. I thought Dan Hannan’s blog today is particularly insightful (though that’s like assessing an Alp). Conservative support for Turkish accession to the...

Dan Hannan issues a mea culpa this morning. Back in October 2008, he wrote a post titled “why this conservative is for Barack Obama”. It was, he says, “the single most unpopular post” in his 3 ½ years of blogging....

There's an interesting post by Dan Hannan today where he describes the sort of calls he's been getting from BBC researchers who are fishing for evidence for the story they want to run - read Dan here. We know from former BBC employees and from facebook profiles that the BBC is an institutionally left wing organisation many of whom's staff go on to careers in left wing parties. So wh...

I'm coming to Farage and his awful tirade against the European President in a minute, but British Tory MEP Dan Hannan had this to say on February 10 about the Tea Party Movement: "Some of my US readers believe that anti-tax rebellions are an American speciality, but we’ve had plenty of them in this country, from the Poll Tax Riots of 1381 (the Peasants’ Revolt) to the Poll Tax Rio...
