When I was selected as PPC for Hackney South and Shoreditch ahead of the last General Election, I promised to move into the constituency. Since I believe passionately in the environment, I chose to buy a Victorian solid-brick house in Hackney and with the aim of making it into an ecohouse. Solid brick properties are

A brilliant article in Progress by my friend and organisational mentor (he was Chair of Aldershot CLP when I was PPC in 2001) Keith Dibble - - relaunching "Third Place First", the campaign for Labour to rebuild its presence throughout the country

Kate, This is a classic standoff between feminists. The old guard in your corner, and the new guard in mine. At the very least, unlike many women of my generation, I call myself a feminist. I know a Labour PPC who told me she "isn't a feminist, because I believe in equality".

I can confirm today, after several days of digging around, that editors at the London Evening Standard newspaper are sitting on a potentially explosive story on Hammersmith Conservative PPC Shaun Bailey.
