David Davis I hear a nasty rumour that “the EU” will take “our” gas. This is because the EUmonsters masturbated with Russia the USSR on screen, and have come unstuck. Do not masturbate with Russia the USSR on your screen. Bad things will come to you. Russia the USSR is not exactly anybody’s friend at present,

David Davis Just spotted this, and it does not surprise me at all. We need régime change in Russia the USSR, as I keep on boringly saying. The current Russian government the New Communists should be got rid of quietly, elections should be held under scrutiny by the UK libertarian Party, and then the USSR Russia

David Davis We could be friends with Russia. But not, I think, until we have done régime-change there. It’s long overdue, the crew we have allowed to be incharge since 1917 has caused quite enough toruble for ordinary humans and for us, and it’s time they went. Russia the USSR gets away with murder, as in Georgia

The Conservatives haven't actually said very much about 'Freedom' since David Davis' misfiring stunt last month. Yes, Davis has still got his 'David Davis For Freedom' website up and running, but David's concern for our civil liberties, so much championed by liberals, seems to have run out of steam. Strangely, his enthusiasm for individual liberty seems to have e...

When David Davis resigned as an MP last year to force the by-election, many thought this would be last we would see of him on the Conservative front bench. Perhaps not, or at least that's what Hickey thinks in the Sunday Express. Perhaps Chris Grayling's gaffe during the conference will make David Cameron think again. Could this be the return of David Davis?

It's got a mouthful of a name but despite none of the conventional parties standing, there are still 25 other people out there who fancy getting their bums on the green benches in the name of Haltermprice and Howden who aren't David Davis. The Greens are there but they are on the same side as Davis

At the moment, David Davis would probably rather be arrested than return to the shadow cabinet. But the prospect of Davis being asked to come back to the top table looks more likely now than at any point since his spectacular resignation in June. Davis could well be back in his old job after a reshuffle in the New Year. The Damian Green affair has reminded the Tory leadership how much they miss so...

UPDATE: There is an update to this story, published the following day on Lib Dem Voice, in which The Guardian makes clear that the quote on which this posting was based was not uttered by David Davis. David Davis has had many warm words written about him by Lib Dems - myself included - since

Conservative MP David Davis looks back on the moment he quit the Tory frontbench and talks about his relationship with David Cameron. Plus read the full interview transcript David Davis has lifted the lid on the moment he made David Cameron panic by announcing his resignation as shadow home secretary to fight a crusading by-election on civil liberties. Cameron was so worried that the move would un...

To no-one's surprise, David Davis was swept back to the House of Commons as Conservative MP for Haltemprice & Howden winning nearly 72% of the vote. A ringing endorsement - Well, up to a point.Of course, Davis took no risks. Once Nick Clegg had agreed not to contest the seat, Davis was more or less assured of being returned. Labour didn't fall into the trap and also bowed out leaving Davis alone w...
