Here we go again. More BNP bollocks. Google Immigration into Britain: These are the facts because I ain’t linking to it. This won't make any sense unless you first look at this rather good and amusing piece on Paul Staines' blog, about the predictive suggestions Google gives you when you type "Gordon Brown is". Then go to google.co.uk, and type in "Paul Staines", and see what predictive text Google suggests. FIRST PLACE GOOGLE SUGGESTION IS "PAUL STAINES BNP". As Paul says so wisely "GOOGLE KNOWS". Those g...

Google trends tells us that the areas where "British National Party" is searched most relative to other searches are Luton, Bradford, and Maidenhead, Nottinham, Leeds and Hull. Then Bletchley, which crops up a lot in these google trends things. UKIP, however, are from Maidenhead, Liverpool, Brighton, Nottingham and then Cambridge (with good old Bletchley coming up). The English Democrats are from ...

I have a policy of not linking to the BNP's website. If you want to see the BNP documents I'm referencing here, google 'Preserving British Identity: The British National Party’s Immigration Policy' and 'Countering the smears'.You know, it's weird taking apart a BNP document about their immigration policy. Normally, trying to make head or tail of a political party's policy statements is an

The Sunday Times investigates Google’s tax arrangements in the UK. Well, actually, they have Richard Murphy read the accounts for them. In a nutshell when you buy an ad from Google you do so from Google Ireland rather than Google UK. Thus tax on any profits ends up in the Irish Treasury rather than the UK

Who joins the BNP and who votes BNP? Matthew Goodwin’s new book, New British Fascism: Rise of the British National Party, expands on one of his previous works on political extremism to look in-depth at just the BNP. Google gets the vote in Indian elections Google may be wondering what it did to upset the digital apple cart. Since last week’s stand-off between the residents of leafy Broughton and the Google Street View van made national news, esteemed commentators have weighed in to the debate over Google’s hegemony. The Observer’s Henry Porter - very much an enemy of the all-powerful and all-seein...

Over the last couple of weeks I've been experimenting with a technique compare the top Google search results for any website for any set of keywords. Today I want to introduce an analysis of which UK political websites - blogs, news sites, party-linked websites, and media sites - score most highly for searches for well-known politicians on Google. This week I will be running a series of artic...

I posted Tim Ireland of Bloggerheads' first Billy the Brit video a few days ago. And then both of our pieces landed in the top five Google search results for the term "Billy Brit". Good. Equally good, Tim's site seems to optimise well for google.com, while the Wardman Wire did relatively better in google.co.uk. That is a useful variation. Here is Tim's second video, which I haven...
