Rob Parsons commented: OK, I have a nice letter from the Telegraph. What now? It looks as if Rob got the same letter I did, which read as follows: Thank you for your email of 27 May 2009, which was addressed to telegrapheditorial. While we note your comments, we believe that the above article was written and in

Warning: This is a long and tedious article and I would not blame anyone who decides to skip it entirely. I have disabled comments for this specific article (something I have never done before in my almost 7 years of blogging). I am writing it only to document for archival purposes an unpleasant series of comments made last night on an article I wrote almost two weeks ago; I regret nothing I

I have just been commenting over at Samizdata, on this.  Johnathan Pearce links to this article, and Guido Fawkes himself commented that the Telegraph got that story from his blog two days ago, while somehow neglecting to mention the fact.  Indeed.. My first comment, with some links added: Yeah (Guido), just what I was going to say. The spat between Guido and the Telegraph is almost as m...

We occasionally get some pretty nutty comments on the threads but I often think that this blog's comments are models of restraint and coolness compared with what else is out there. In response to a fairly decent article by Niall Ferguson, the historian, at the Daily Telegraph today, is this zinger from some character by the name of King O'Malley. Enjoy: What a load of Tosh. Adam Smith is...

Media Watch: Half of Britain has unacceptable levels of litter The Daily Telegraph have excelled themselves with this article: Half of Britain has unacceptable levels of litter. Despite mentioning the fact that only English councils were surveyed on more than one occassion in the article, the reporter (Lousie Gray, Environment Correspondent) still went on to call England “Britain” at every opportunity. The following email has been sent to

Posted by Sean Gabb I won’t reproduce this disgraceful article. But here are the comments made so far on the Telegraph blog. Guido Fawkes - principled advocate of the great concept of AngloSaxon Liberties. Let’s hope Fawkes brings down Gordon Brown next. NuLabour are still obsessed with spin cycles

Fewer than two-thirds of babies are registered ‘white British’ - says the Telegraph. Interesting stats in that article. I’m more surprised that the comments accompanying the Daily Mail article were largely sane. Ahh… bless. Its not all doom and gloom when it comes to race relations folks!

As it's now the 40th anniversary of Enoch Powell's speech, the media has briefly woken up to the question of immigration. My own contribution was in The Sunday Telegraph on April 13. To read the article and the many comments on it left by readers, click here.
