Tim Worstall - back in harness after running for office as a UKIP MEP - writes about the Labour government's stated desire to ensure that not a single tract of the UK is without broadband access. It is the sort of techie, practical measure that Mr Gordon Brown thinks will help win him a bit of respect in the traditional Tory and LibDem shires. As Tim says, the logic of this idea is questionab...

Just received from Tim Worstall in the UKIP Press Office... UKIP is being inundated with calls from voters complaining that UKIP is not on the ballot paper. Voting has only been going on for three hours and already hundreds are calling the UK Independence Party to complain that they were not able to vote for the party. The problem is that Returning Officers have been folding the ballot papers. The...

UKIP: The UK Should Leave the UK Seen this morning on UKIP's website. Look at the headline for the video... :). Joking aside though, UKIP invited me to visit their national campaign HQ this morning to have a look at what they're doing. It was good to see one of my blogging inspirations, Tim Worstall, who is UKIP's communications director. They have a phone bank which seemed very active. A lot of the calls, they sai...

I've been and will continue to be a little too busy to blog properly this weekend, and I'm doing the Blogpower round-up tomorrow. But it's well worth pointing you in the direction of this very interesting post over at the Devil's Kitchen on the situation in the UK Independence Party (UKIP). Tim Worstall has been at the UKIP conference this week, and has posted on some of the more notable developme...

But he’s not alone in seeking to influence the UK from the far right whilst living far away. Note that the Wikipedia entry for Tim Worstall says: Since September 2007, Worstall has been the press officer for the UK Independence Party. He lives in Portugal with his wife. I guess that’s one form of independence from the UK, Rather odd

Why ever would they do that? Because of Ashley Mote MEP's criminal record, for benefit fraud as it goes. Ash kept getting his pay cheques while incarcerated but sadly could not pull any of the usual travel and subsistence fiddles. Via Tim Worstall via Dale's Daily Dozen. Here's a little quote from our previous coverage of Mote (72) and his Tory antecedents: Nirj Deva MEP gave Ash a ...

"I’m retiring as an MEP at the end of this month for personal reasons. But the final straw of EU interference has been the ban on our using acres. So I’m going to find Gert Pottering in the Parliament next week and I’m going to kick him where it hurts. Leave him with two acres to remember me by."UKIP MEP Graham Booth, via Tim Worstall

Marta Andreassen is after your vote to help her become a UKIP MEP. She was previously Chief Accountant of the European Commission, sacked by Kinnock (hung out to dray according to Tim Worstall)for whistleblowing on the Financial incompetence she saw.

Tim Worstall is going to eat your babies, and your kittens. Or at least that's pretty much what the disgusting, socialist moron, Richard Murphy, seems to think. Tim is a clever chap, I will not dispute it. There is, however, something very unpleasant about his methods. He tries to engage as a reasonable person on this blog, and then goes back to his own blog, hurls abuse and waits for his sycophan...

On the UKIP blog, More on the Euro Tim Worstall, never a man to be taken lightly, asks us whether we should believe Will Hutton (a bit of a journalist and an intellectual pygmy according to Tim)... or Paul Krugman (a real intellectual and Nobel Prizewinning economist). Well, this is what Krugman has to say.

There is, however, another reason for not engaging further. I note some of the rather offensive comments on Tim’s blog. I am quite sure neither Dennis or I would allow such ad hominem attacks, all unfounded. But Tim comes from a very different part of the political and, might I say it, social spectrum. Tim
