The Archbishop of Canterbury has discovered that there is "a certain integrity" to a church which is separate from the state: an opinion he apparently held while a bishop in the Church of Wales before clarifying (or, in Standard English, reversing) his position when he became a candidate for the top office in the Church of England. There are, however, conditions: "I think the motives that would

Interesting to see just how rotten from within the Church of England has become - a whitened sepulchre to borrow a phrase. "The Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu has told the Church of England's synod meeting in London taxes would have to increase in order to help those worst affected by the recession. He said Britain had "worshipped at the temple of money" as if it were a God. Last year Dr ...

Dr Andrew Lilico has written a most interesting and learned piece for ConservativeHome, entitled 'How and Why the Church of England will split'. Cranmer has appended his own thoughts on the matter:Over the past decade, the morality of homosexuality has become obsessively an increasingly central issue in the Church of England. It is an evolving debate, the complexity of which is compounde...

Where others might use bombs and guns to preach their message, the most radical act a Church of England militant is likely ...

The two most senior figures in the Church of England have condemned the behaviour of City traders, and questioned their value to society. Fair enough - I feel the same about the Church of England. I also wonder how these clerics think that the share investments that their Church makes are made to work for them? Holy fools claims wholly without foundation. Plus ca change?

The churches, I mean - sponsors of numerous Scout Groups. And especially the Church of England and the Church in Wales, sponsors of numerous Scout Groups even in heavily Catholic and/or Nonconformist parts of the country. Evangelical, Anglo-Catholic or just old-school parishes and clergy, what chance have you of influencing the Sex Education curriculum at a county school, or even at a church secon...

Apparently, Telford is the most godless town in the UK. Excellent! Let’s keep it that way. So godless are my fellow Telfordonians that the Church of England has seen fit to send a missionary to tame the savages redeem us. According to the Church of England, Telford has the lowest per capita church attendance in the UK.
