Over at The Guardian’s Comment Is Free website, Simon Hughes – Lib Dem MP for North Southwark and Bermondsey since 1983 – writes about his experiences as a constituency member of Parliament, and how a good and effective democracy is under-pinned by approachable MPs who deliver top-quality personal responses. (Peter Black recently blogged a letter

(In fact, it’s almost 11 weeks now, as the Voice inadvertently missed the Lib Dem deputy leader’s article when it first appeared …) Over at The Guardian’s Comment Is Free website last week, Simon Hughes launched a vigorous defence of the Coalition Government and its initial achievements … especially the Lib Dem ones. Here’s an

A post by Confused of Cardiff The Welsh Lib Dem's Flickr page is a fantastic comedy resource. Here is one rib-tickling example, courtesy of one of their Health Spokesperson, Peter Black AM. It's titled (in all sincerity) 'Peter Black AM Posting Letter' and is reproduced below for your enjoyment. N.B. We are indebted to you Peter, for sharing this wonderful skill with the Welsh nation. I

Peter Black uses Miserable Old Farts post as a springboard to ask what is Plaid for on his blog. Peter its Christmas not April fools! A Lib Dem politician asking what another political party what they stand for! Whatever next? For info Plaid have a clear objective and constitution as a party. The same can be said for the Tories and Labour. You may not agree with one, or all of those but you can ma...

It Keeps Getting Worse For Black Following my post highlighting the naivety of Peter Black and Vaughan Roderick’s (translation) support for that position Peter Black is looking even stupider now as one of the Lib Dem’s leading bloggers Stephen Tall has also chipped in his criticism. In his blog Stephen states: “Yet the overall impression is of a bit of a joker, a wildcard eccentric, the type of guy you’d l...

From Simon Hughes’ website: In a letter to Lorely Burt MP, Chair of the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Party in the House of Commons, Simon Hughes has set out his proposals on how Liberal Democrats should organise themselves in this parliament in order to provide the best supportive but independent voice in a parliament of coalition government: Dear

If you want a laugh head over to Peter Black’s blog and have a look at this post on the European elections. The main point that Peter makes, as does Welsh Ramblings, is to comment on the state of the Labour party. Their “machine” is on the verge of breaking down with a great deal of disorganisation. However, what is interesting to note is that on Peter’s post he has decided...

As expected Simon Hughes, has won the race to be Lib Dem deputy leader, congratulations. Both candidates pledged to assert the party’s independence within the context of supporting the coalition. Hughes intends to appoint Lib Dem spokesmen for all government departments to improve accountability in parliament. A renowned left-winger, Hughes’s inclination must run contrary to the Conser...

I recently posted this on my blog drawing attention to the Lib Dems splits on neurosurgery. It was partly posted in jest to wind Peter Black up but mostly as I find the actions of the Lib Dems on this issue quite deplorable. Peter Black/Jenny Randerson (delete where appropriate) are clearly misleading their constituents as it is quite simply impossible for them to both be right. Peter whispers in ...

This caught my eye on Peter Black's Twitter: "is about to do a TV interview on the need to keep neurosurgery in Swansea 4:52 AM Jul 18th" Nice to see the huge split on this issue in which former Health spokesperson Jenny Randerson campaigned for neurosurgery to be moved to Cardiff is not being noted. Never let the truth get in the way of a Lib Dem story eh.
