A couple of interesting developments as things come down to the wire and comedy turns into farce. Today was the day of a massive anti-Obamacare demonstration in DC with something like 30,000 attending. And wouldn't you know it? The Angry left at places like PuffHo is breathlessly reporting that those racist, fascist tea partyers called two members of the Congressional Black Caucus the N-word!...

Carol Thatcher has been barred from the One Show after being reported for a racist comment. More to follow. Full story HERE Update: It looks like this was a private joke blown out of proportion by the PC brigade. I think Carol was being a naive comparing the tennis player to a Golliwog, but I'm sure there was no racist intent. However, some will scream racism no matter what.

I just received an e-mail from the Guy Earle comedy benefit, on right now in Toronto. Jason Kenney, the federal cabinet minister and Secretary of State for Multiculturalism and Canadian Identity, is there, along with his Director of Communications, Alykhan Velshi. I have no information about the event itself -- whether the comics are funny; how political they are; what Earle himself said by way of...

There’s an interesting update on Harry’s Place. It states that Joe Quinn, author of the article to which Jenna Delich linked on the UCU email list and thus precipitated the now well-known squabble that has spread across the net, has responded to HP’s allegations. Apparently he claims not to be a racist and to have

What exactly is "racist content"? Who decides and on what criteria? "Twelve British National Party activists have been arrested in Liverpool on suspicion of handing out racist leaflets claiming that "our people" are experiencing an "epidemic of racist violence, sexual exploitation and murder" by Muslims. The leaflet alleges the "average racist killer" is 40 times more likely to be from an ethnic m...

If you attended a tea party to protest your government's off the charts spending and massive taxation, you're simply a redneck racist. At least that's what failed comedienne and failed Air America talk show host Janeane Garafolo and Keith Olbermann over at MSNBC think...if that's the operative word: "Let's be very honest about what this is about. This is not about bashing ...

Such is the horror of the end result of a successful suicide attack, few have so far attempted to turn perhaps the ultimate act of personal violence into comedy: Monkey Dust, the dark BBC3 animated satire, had hapless Brummies blowing themselves up, while Chris Morris now has his jihadist comedy in film production, having been giving funding by Warp Films. It's all the more surprising because...
