A lovely little tale about Liberal Democrats dirty campaigning tactics on the BBC's Cornish pages: Liberal Democrats have apologised after a campaign leaflet was sent out which uses a swear word to describe a Cornish nationalist candidate. The paperwork was distributed on behalf of Anna Pascoe, Lib Dem candidate for Cornwall Council elections on 4 June. It calls Mebyon Kernow candidate Stuart Cull...

Yesterday I suggested that the Liberal Democrats had cause to distance themselves from the controversial Policy Exchange report, Cities Unlimited, on the grounds that two of its authors were Liberal Democrats. One of the pair, Marc Oliver Hartwich, has got in touch fervently to deny being a Liberal Democrat, explaining that he has merely advised a Lib Dem peer: "I have worked for Matthew Oakeshot...

In three local by-elections held yesterday Labour triumphed, with a wholesale collapse in the Liberal Democrat vote in Labour’s favour. In Nick Clegg’s Sheffield back yard, Labour’s Terry Fox comfortably kept Manor Castle Labour with a massive 17.5% swing from the Liberal Democrats to Labour. Labour won 2,092 votes with the Liberal Democrats trailing in a poor second place with j...

A letter sent to all Cornish newspapers: Dear Editor, Your article last week on the infighting among local Liberal Democrats made for a bitter-sweet read as I prepare to oppose them in upcoming local elections. I have been told that two Lib Dem MPs withdrew their support for a press release welcoming June elections on the grounds that no formal decision on the date had yet been made. And now it se...

Facebook users, please see here: A vote for the Liberal Democrats at the European Parliament elections on 4th June is a vote to bully the Irish people into reversing their clear 'No' vote to the Lisbon Treaty. That's the message being sent by Lib Dem MEP for the South West Graham Watson, according to this recent article in the Irish Times. As the leader of the Liberal group of MEPs in the European...

This article is written by Matt Folker, who is a candidate for the chair of Liberal Youth. It is a response to this article which appeared yesterday. Lib Dem Voice welcomes articles from any candidates in the Liberal Youth elections. One of the things which believe makes Liberal Youth and the Liberal Democrats so special is that

So Jenny Randerson has thrown her hat into the ring, challenging Kirsty Williams for the leadership of the Welsh Liberal Democrats. In a contest like this one (ie a Lib Dem one), there's no point asking about the candidates' policies. Lib Dems, after all, will promise anything and everything to anyone and everyone. Instead, let's concentrate on what they look like. Or rather, who they look like.

Like all Liberal Democrats, I would never support a Tory government. Most of us have spent many years asking countless people to vote Lib Dem to “keep the Tories out”, but I actually think that’s exactly what we’ve done. Without the Liberal Democrats the Tories would have a majority now. So many Lib Dems seats are
