That's a phrase with a political history. Is it relevant today? Fraser Nelson notes how the NUT is trying to stop schools becoming academies. We have the NUT undemocratically setting out to sabotage government policy on schools, and Unite seeking judicial review of the proposed reorganisation of the NHS, while Harriet Harman's EHRC seems to think it has the right to call in any governmen...

Labour in rallying cry to save Southampton's NHS from Government attack. Labour is today launching a major national drive to unite the country in a call on the Government to drop its unwanted Health and Social Care Bill. The ‘Drop the Bill' campaign, at www.dropthebill.com, aims to show the full scale of opposition to the Government's plans. It will unite patients, NHS profess...

Just as the Conservatives begin to re-assemble the shards of their tax policy into something resembling an intact vessel, Labour's economic plans fall into total disarray. This is not, to put it mildly, one of those historical moments when political leadership inspires public confidence. At PMQs today, Harriet Harman repeatedly ...

Rumour has it that there will be a piece out in the Economist this Friday taking a look at Harriet Harman's leadership prospects post-Brown. It has her down as an 'early favourite'. Early by a good few years, I hope. Obviously this would be a highly irresponsible debate to have. Labour needs to debate policy and values, it always will do, but with a government behind in the polls an...

Harriet Harman - Fail While Harriet was talking on her mobile phone, she crashed into another car and drove off after shouting - "I’m Harriet Harman, you know where you can get hold of me." Clearly not at the scene of an accident you're responsible for Ms Harman.

So here we start to see Harriet "I'm a token woman" Harman's keeping out of the Labour leadership contest. She wants to be King maker ( or is it Queen maker - perhaps its should be Eunuch maker given her current plans ). Harriet wants he plan to oppress people based on the genes made into Labour party policy, and will hope it will become government policy so we will all be oppressed by t...

Just when you think that Harriet Harman might have left some of her loonier obsessions behind now that she is not only Leader of the Commons but also deputy leader of the Labour  Party, we get this. With her Cabinet colleague Ed Balls warning that we are in the deepest economic swamp in a century, Harman's response? Bankers should stop going to lap-dancing clubs.

The Banker, his pension and the deputy leader of the Labour Party Harriet Harman I think I may be able to help Harriet Harman. She has said that she is determined that Sir Fred Goodwin is not to keep his pension. “Who will rid this turbulent banker of his pension?” Gordon Brown. The Prime Minister has spoken. Make it so, Number One. But how is it to be done legally? Ms Harman declined to say how the government would achieve this but made it clear it would no...
