In the face of massive attacks on their terms and conditions, care workers in Southampton are taking three days of strike action from 3-5 February. The strike involves 240 UNISON and TGWU members. PUPILS at a Coventry primary school will be sent home for three days next week because of the latest council strike.Teaching assistants and secretarial staff at Holbrook Primary School will be on strike next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Unison local government workers voted on Monday to take strike action over the government's derisory 2.45% pay offer, instead demanding a 6% or 50p an hour pay rise. The first strike days are expected to be in mid-July (probably 16th and 17th).
