If you're prepared to go along to Port Talbot on Wednesday night and share your thoughts on devolving more powers to Wales, then a free curry will be yours care of the All Wales Convention. To free laptops, free toothbrushes and free lightbulbs, now we can add free curry to the list of Welsh political freebies. G...

I like his blog, but don't agree with everything Guido Fawkes says. I particularly despise this recycled garbage. Anyone who believes in free markets and free trade has to believe as a corollary in the free movement of people. Why? Leaving aside the fact that there is no such thing as a free market (and there hasn't been for centuries) or even free trade - why would the corollary be free...

Mark Wadsworth is once more banging the Land Value Tax drum in respect of the theft of land by the government. I find the idea of LVT instinctively distasteful, for reasons that I shall elaborate on in the future; however, I did want to pull Mark up on his opening sentence. [Emphasis mine.] In the comments, I suggested Land Value Tax as a free market solution to the question of whether the State s...

Chris has responded to the Republicans debate. I'd like to pick out a few of his comments and add my own views. Chris says: "The Democrats are anti-free trade" Come on, this is America we're talking about, no serious politician is anything like "anti-free trade"! It is worth returning to Channel 4’s decision to have President Ahmadinejad deliver its alternative Christmas message. Predictably, those who have attacked the decision have been accused of opposition to free speech—just look at some of the comments on the Skimmer’s post. But this criticism misses a crucial distinction: there is a difference between allowing free speech and provi...
