Allegations have recently been posted on Paul Staines’ blog Order Order (where he blogs under the pseudonym Guido Fawkes) about a relationship between William Hague and one of his special advisors, Christopher Myers. These allegations have led to Myers resigning from his post and to the Hague’s releasing a full and frank statement which include

Paul Staines, who blogs as Guido Fawkes, seems very keen indeed to persuade his readers that the public’s right behind him on his pursuit of William Hague over the allegation of improper activities with his former special advisor. Keen enough, it appears, to take a rather inventive approach when it comes to interpreting the opinion

It wasn’t too long ago that Messagespace were

Alex Hilton, who runs the Labourhome blog, has received "a threatening phone call from a Labour member upset that I have a relationship with the Tory blogger Guido Fawkes". Hilton and Paul Staines (who writes Guido Fawkes) founded the Messagespace advertising scheme for political blogs. And Staines is also a personal friend of Alex Hilton. This blog has never had a link to order-order.com*, home of serial referrer to himself in the third person Guido Fawkes/Paul Staines. So I am pleased to welcome all converts to the pure and gentle world of freedom from Staines. More seriously, my longstanding complaint about Paul is not that he’s outrageous or so on, it’s that

In an intriguing development, the story has just broken that William Hague is to give up his outside interests. Paul Waugh reports that Hague will give them all up, including the after dinner speeches, by September. Hague’s move suggests that Cameron is going to order his shadow Cabinet to give up all their second jobs.  These jobs were always a strategic vulnerability, but given the st...

Guido Fawkes: takes one to know one Paul ‘Guido Fawkes‘ Staines gets a little write-up in the new Private Eye. It describes a highly intellectual exchange where Staines refers to the Daily Telegraph’s Andrew Pierce as ‘a thieving cunt’. (And Guido really should be the last person to be chucking aesthetic aspersions at others.) Now, far be it from me to get between
