Gideon Osborne has announced that, due to the “complete economic mess” the Conservatives will have to rewrite all their economic policies. To a degree that makes sense, except when you remember one thing: They don’t have any economic policies! Osborne has done a brilliant job at not saying anything about what he plans to do for

Something I often find puzzling, is why some Conservatives in the UK regularly align themselves with Democrats in the US. The natural allies of the British Conservative Party in the US is the Republican Party. Roger Helmer MEP discusses this and says 'Conservatives for Obama? It makes about as much sense as Conservatives for Gordon Brown.' He is, of course, right. Read his full article HERE.

Getting the numbers wrong seems to be becoming a habit among Conservatives. First we had those dodgy crime statistics, with the Conservatives claiming wrongly that violent crime had massively increased over the last decade. Today we discover the Conservatives have inflated tenfold the number of girls getting pregnant in deprived communities. What’s a

Two groups in the Conservative party that have worried most about Con-Lib government are the social conservatives and the neo-conservatives. The latter have been particularly worried about UK relations with Israel. There is a real concern in parts of the Conservatives Party that three factors would come together to sour Anglo-Israeli relations: what the neo-conservatives see as the Foreign Office&...

The Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) today say that the Conservatives' manifesto is "incomplete at best and misleading at worst" on the issue of tax credit cuts and that, including some of the election giveaways that the Conservatives have still not set out proper funding plans for, the Conservatives' tax and benefit policies are "regressive" overall. Yvette Cooper, Labour's Work ...

The Conservatives will go into the next election committed to raising the top level of tax to 45p for those earning more than £150,000.People presume that because I loath Labour, I must support the Conservatives. Well, I used to quite like them under Margaret Thatcher but ever since she was stabbed in the back, I have become much cooler towards that Party. I do believe they will form the...

One of Labour’s spin successes in recent years has been to shape misconceptions of the Conservatives. The press and public have been fed the line that Conservatives are the ugly ducklings. It is time to reveal that, on the contrary, they can be the swans.

Two blog gems in the past two days. The first from Kerron Cross on how the Conservatives plans on tax cuts do nothing for the 96% of families in this country, whilst at Sadie's Tavern, there is the inconsistency on what the Conservatives believe MP's offices should be used for. Basically if you are a Tory, then there are misunderstandings, if you are Labour then you so much as cough, the...

Just a couple of days after Gordon Brown was nicking SNP policies and passing them off as Labour policies in his conference speech, now the Conservatives do the same. Shadow Chancellor George Osborne has just announced the Conservatives will introduce a freeze in Council Tax in England. Of course, the SNP policy was opposed by the Scottish
