Compared to the time of the last UK general election, there is now a vast virtual real estate in the British political blogosphere. Currently some of the biggest players are on the right. Conservative Home and its recent offshoot, Centre Right contain some of the most sober political analysis available online. Guido Fawkes and Iain Dale, both combine political light (and not so light) entertainmen...

Try JibJab Sendables® eCards today! Guido has posted this Chipendales tribute. Left to right, on the screen at least: Tim Montgomery (Conservative Home), James Cleverly (Blogging MLA), Iain Dale (Iain Dale), Shane Greer (Iain's mini-me), and Mister GuF (Guido Fawkes). There you have it then. Guido is officially deeply embedded in Tory Blog Culture. Part of Coulson's Irregulars. T...

Row erupts in blogosphere It is worth keeping your eye on this one, a story of an alleged smear campaign organised within 10 Downing Street designed to smear high ranking members of the Conservative Party as well as bloggers Guido Fawkes and Iain Dale. Dale’s initial post, along with Guido’s suggest that even the Telegraph story

The latest development in young Draper's war against the blogosphere is an interesting one, if worrying to defenders of free speech. The first salvo, accusing Iain Dale and Guido Fawkes of racism or, at the very least, pandering to it, seemed to be cliched but effective. It got everyone talking about him, put Iain and Guido on the defensive to some extent but rallied support for his opponents. So

In response to Iain Lindley's request, Iain Dale has published the list of the top 100 Conservative blogs; as opposed to those who are right of centre and not aligned to the Conservative Party. Andy Newman highlights something I wrote late last night, which I sort of scribbled quickly while half-asleep. But I think its worth repeating here: The thing is this: all the bloggers mentioned above [Iain Dale, Guido Fawkes, Conservative Home], Derek Draper, and the Westminster journos who buy into the rubbish that these are the only blogs

Iain Dale covers last night's story of the resignation of a Conservative adviser over controversial comments on race. The quote was taken from this interview.Dale and the Tory blogosphere, are outraged at the "lack of backbone" by the Mayor who, they believe, should've stood by his man. Conservative Home goes further in McGrath's defence in an event which is bound to have the right in knots for da...

Last week Paul Linford said on his blog: As I have pointed out before, what we must now call the Big Five political blogs are, by virtue of their size, influence, and networks, practically part of the mainstream media already. They are, in no particular order, Iain Dale’s Diary, Guido Fawkes, Political Betting, Conservative Home

Iain Dale holds a unique position in the Conservative blogosphere. He is not a "my-party-right-or-wrong" die hard, and yet neither does he embrace the futile posturing of the anti-Cameroons that form the bulk of Conservative Home postings. His politics are, I sense, to a great degree truly the "Liberal-Conservative" ideology that David Cameron positions himself as holding, and even though we may q...
