George Osborne, in his eagerness to try to attack Peter Mandelson, has been caught lying about the extent of his links to Oleg Deripaska. He should resign. Yesterday, George Osborne released a statement which said: "The allegations made in Mr Rothschild's letter to the Times are completely untrue. Both Andrew Feldman and George Osborne deny absolutely that they attempted to solicit a don...

I've just spent a very enjoyable couple of hours at the Spectator awards lunch at Claridges. Rather hilariously George Osborne was sat at the same table as Peter Mandelson, albeit at polar opposite sides. And who should win the first award, Newcomer of the Year? Yup, Peter Mandelson. The sight of Osborne and Mandelson shaking hands is one I shall cherish for some time. Mandelson's acceptan...

Spectator awards lunch latest... Amazing scenes. George Osborne, handing over the medals to winners, has just had to present Peter Mandelson with newcomer of the year prize. They bent the rules a bit this year, including newcomers to the House of Lords. Mandelson's acceptance speech was a masterpiece. Osborne has just thanked the Spectator for stitching him up. Pictures to follow.

Oleg Deripaska may be regarded as persona non grata by the American government but Mandrake hears that Peter Mandelson George Osborne and his wife Frances were nevertheless happy to avail themselves of the controversial Russian oligarch's hospitality on board his superyacht Queen K during their summer holidays in Corfu.

Newsflash: George Osborne and Peter Mandelson have been put on the same table at the Spectator Parliamentarian of the year lunch just kicking off at Claridges. The last time they met for lunch it was in Corfu and the results were pretty explosive. Neither has arrived yet. Let's see if they are willing to sit down and break bread together. Or will one of them insist on being moved? More later.

George Osborne embarrassed Peter Mandelson earlier this Autumn by telling the media Mandelson's comments about Gordon Brown. I have little doubt that the story about potential donations is payback. George Osborne has released a very clear and unambiguous statement, one leaving him no wiggle room or space for interpretation. Even the most fervent Labour supporter would have to agree that it

You can't say they don't have a sense of humour at the Spectator. George Osborne was presenting their political awards today and he found himself at a table with Peter Mandelson, who won "newcomer of the year". Iain Dale was there to witness their reconciliation and ConservativeHome has done a live blog of the ceremony, complete with all the winners. According to the ConservativeHome acc...

One of the great misapprehensions about the Mandelson-Osborne feud is that Osborne was the instigator of it. The Independent in its piece on the relationship between the two says: “When, a couple of months later in October, Peter Mandelson was offered a peerage and brought back into the Cabinet as Business Secretary, Osborne began briefing journalists to the effect that Lord Mandelson, then ...
