This morning's Times/Populus poll (£) will have supporters of the coalition grimacing into their cornflakes. The headline finding is bad enough, if rather familiar, with Labour closing the gap between themselves and the Tories to only two points. But what follows is worse. According to the poll, around three-quarters of voters reject the government's deficit reduction strategy ̵...

There is a new ICM poll in the Sunday Telegraph which is - rather inexplicably - already up on their website here. The topline figures with changes from the last ICM poll are CON 40%(-4), LAB 28%(-4), LDEM 22%(+6). The poll was conducted on the 4th and 5th February. The changes since the last poll are

According to RTE News there may well a decision about a second referendum in Ireland before the European Council meeting in December, presumably as the Irish government does not want to be the whipping boy yet again for the colleagues in the Council. According to a new poll there is some hope for the government if you read the figures the way they might want to. The TNS/mrbi poll in tomorrow'...

Drama. Excitement. Uncertainty. That is what our exit poll guarantees this election night. If it's right the Conservatives are on the cusp of power - without a majority but able on the basis of a deal or, more likely, a series of ad hoc deals to govern as a minority government. If it's just a little wrong - and, of course, it is only a poll - then it is possible either that the Conservat...

YouGov’s monthly poll for the Telegraph has topline figures, with changes from the previous YouGov poll, of CON 41%(-3), LAB 31%(-1), LDEM 15%(+1). While the poll still shows them at 40% and with a double point lead, the poll suggests a slight fall in Tory support. It’ll be interesting to see if that is reflected

Afghan people still want our help A new poll of the people of Afghanistan has been undertaken. The BBC report on the poll is titled Afghan people ‘losing confidence’. Reading the full poll [PDF], the title is justified. There are social problems, concerns about corruption, violence, and economics. There is also growing disenchantment with the Afghan government, but it is important

Channel 4 News has commissioned a poll from YouGov in the 60 marginal constituencies David Cameron needs to win to form a Government. LDV doesn’t dwell on individual poll results – the only sensible way to use polls is to look at trends – but it’s worth highlighting one finding which is unlikely to get

A new ICM poll for the Guardian has the Tory lead at nine points, 38 to 29. However, both main parties have fallen back since the last ICM poll which had the Tories on 39 and Labour on 31. This new ICM poll has the Lib Dems on 23, up four since the last ICM poll and three since last month’s Guardian / ICM poll. On a uniform national swing, this poll would leave the Tories 20 seats short of a...
