Lib Dem Voice point to a Liverpool Daily Post story about a Tory PPB. A SOUTHPORT builder who was tagged the Tories’ version of “Joe the Plumber” was last night at the centre of a major political row. Shane Prescott starred in the Conservative party broadcast on Thursday, claiming his business had struggled because of the recession. But

News reaches us via Conservative Home and the Telegraph that Norsheen Bhatti, the Liberal Democrat PPC for Chelsea and Fulham, has defected to David Cameron’s party. It is odd that Tory Chairman (and Lib Dem Voice favourite) Eric Pickles suggested to The Telegraph that the environment was one area where his party shares Liberal Democrat values.

So what are we as Lib Dems going to say on the doorsteps to voters during the next General Election campaign to justify ourselves in reply to the ‘I voted Lib Dem to keep the Tories out’ challenge? I can imagine it will be a common enough question, especially in close Lib Dem/Conservative constituencies where

Rather bizarrely, that looks to be the view of the Conservative Party’s Press Office. At the tail end of July, their attitude towards bloggers caught some attention following the refusal of a Conservative press officer to even email an already published letter to a Conservative blogger. PR Week this week reports that the Conservatives have now

Last week Lib Dem Voice reported on Shenanigans in Cumbria, and the likely break-up of the Tory/Lib Dem coalition which has run the County Council since 2001 following the dismissal by the Conservative council leader of his Liberal Democrat deputy, Joan Stocker. Well, now, the inevitable has come to pass, and the Lib Dems have

A senior Tory today apologised for saying that a recession "can be good for us". Andrew Lansley, the shadow health secretary, made the comment on an official Conservative party blog when discussing the effects of a downturn on people's health. But his post was quickly taken down after the remark was picked up at Westminster and seized upon by the Labour party as evidence that the Tories did n...
